Single Vs Multichannel Silica-Pectin Ultrafiltration Membranes for Treatment of Natural Peat Water

چکیده

A comparative study was undertaken to investigate the potential of silica-pectin ultrafiltration membrane on varied operation pressure (0.1-0.3 MPa). Cross-flow works were explored with tubular alumina substrates in single and multichannel configuration. The sol prepared from TEOS as silica precursor by sol-gel method, afterward pectin templated into induce carbon it. Thereafter, both coated via inner coating technique. exhibited better performance (with 4 bores) compared channel terms permeate quality UV254 rejection, well flux. rejection membranes conducted over 84% compliance highest fluxes 234.3 L.m-2.h-1.bar-1 at high (TMP 0.3 flux this work is slightly 60-75% channel. Hence, steady neutralized under TMP MPa conditions for natural 100% peat water concentration, which indicates that fouling not occurred during filtration time up 60 min. Therefore, success treatment water, organic matter removal found be fit uses clean sources.

Preparation and characterization of MWCNT-COOH/PVC ultrafiltration membranes to use in water treatment

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membranes containing pristine and modified multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) were prepared and characterized. MWCNT was modified in order to achieve well-dispersion within the membranes. The results of FTIR analysis revealed that MWCNT was successfully carboxylated. The FESEM images indicated that the number of pores on the surface of membranes increased at the presence...

Preparation of blend hydrophilic PSF-SPEEK ultrafiltration membranes for oily wastewater treatment

Membrane separation is known as an efficient technique for the oily wastewater treatment. Therefore, in the present study, sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) was introduced into the polysulfone (PSF) solution in order to enhance the hydrophilicity and the membrane structure for the oil–water separation. The hollow fiber membranes were fabricated via a phase-inversion process. The memb...

Fabrication of catalytic membranes for the treatment of drinking water using combined ozonation and ultrafiltration.

The removal of disinfection byproducts and their precursors was investigated using a combined ozonation-ultrafiltration system. A commercial membrane was coated 20 or 40 times with iron oxide nanoparticles (4-6 nm in diameter). With this membrane, the concentration of dissolved organic carbon was reduced by >85% and the concentrations of simulated distribution system total trihalomethanes and s...
